Ashishma Nakarmi was born on November 22, 1973, at Balambu, Kathmandu. She is the first child of her father Manraj Shrestha and Aasha Nakarmi. She has two other siblings. She was very calm, silent at an early age. She has spent her childhood mostly in her maternal uncle’s house with her grandmother and grandfather. She loves her grandparents than her father and mother. She did her SLC from Richmond Academy and also did her higher secondary from the same place. After, +2 she went to the United State for her further studies did a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and got graduated from UNT. She also took acting classes in Dallas, U.S.A. She was more interested in Buddhist education than at school. She used to go to Buddha Bihar classes after school. She wanted to be a monk and for 12 days she also stayed as a monk in Buddha Bihar class. She was also very interested in music. Her father Mana Raj Nakarmi is the famous Tabala Badak of Nepal. Her grandparents used to play musical instruments and used to teach her. She takes her grandfather as her first music teacher. She also used to learn dances.
Career
Ashishma Nakarmi started her career at her very young age. At the age of 8, she did a junior diploma in Sitar. After SLC Ashishma did her first music video “Taha Chaina” when she was 15 years only. Then, she took participated in Miss South Asia Texas 2012 beauty pageant, U.S.A., and became a runner-up.
Her big-screen career was started from the Nepal Bhasa movie named Nyalla Bya where she appeared in the lead role “Timila” which means “ Moon”. Her first movie was a blockbuster. From this movie, she came to the limelight of the glamour field. Then she appeared in dozens of Nepal Bhasa movies. like “ Papu Madumha Jhanga” “ Hismadu”, “Yahoo”, “ Taremam” etc. After struggling very hard her struggle became her turning point. She got a chance to debut in the Nepali movie ‘Antaraal’ in 2013. Ever since her acting career has been progressing and bringing movies into her kitty.
