She was also the first Nepali to get the position of ‘Beauty With Purpose’ title securing top 10th position in the Miss World Pageant 2013. She successfully represented Nepal in an international world and glorified the name of Nepal.

When looking at the history of Miss Nepal, Ishani Shrestha is a name that marked history. Ishani Shrestha was born on 5 May 1991 in Kathmandu, Nepal to very loving parents. Her family was always supportive of her. Young Ishani, who grew up watching the Miss Nepal Shows, admired the glamorous women and their talent who stood out on the platform amid the stereotype and patriarchal society. That’s when she knew she’d love being a “woman-platform” breaking the barriers between women and their dreams.

Ishani Shrestha Education Qualifications

Ishani Shrestha did her secondary education at “Triyog High School”. And then, she completed her high school at ‘Fairview High School’ in Boulder, Colorado while she also graduated in Business Studies at The University of Colorado. Later as per her interest, she studied Dental Surgeon in People’s Dental College, Kathmandu Nepal. Ishani has gained lots of education and is a woman of knowledge.

Beauty Pageant and Career

Ishani came from Colorado, the United States to compete in Miss Nepal 2013. Ishani entered the beauty pageant as a normal girl in 2013 and ended up having the results in her favour. She was crowned as Miss Nepal by the former Miss Nepal 2012 Shristi Shrestha. 

She was a competent contestant and happened to remark her presence in the Miss World platform to that year. Ishani Shrestha was awarded the title of “Beauty with Purpose 2013” which is regarded as the most prestigious title of the Miss World. She has presented this award for her outstanding video presentation and social work in which she travelled to the rural places of Nepal to promote and raise awareness to people on Oral Hygiene.

Ishani also achieved the second runner up position for MultiMedia in Miss World 2013 and proudly showcased her country’s culture dance in Miss World 2013. She danced her heart out on the song, “Maiti Ghar ” for the Dances of The World. Representing Nepal in Miss World 2013 in Bali, Indonesia where she made history by securing a place in the top 10. She was the first woman from Nepal to reach the Top 10 position ever.

Ishani is a Social Activist too. She has actively been involved in many national and international organizations. Her project “Project Smile” has been a great successful project. This project helps women and children in the village area running dental camps and awareness. She worked as an 8th Conservation Ambassador for World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Nepal. She is also the Honorary Member at Rotary International.
