“Hostel” a superhit Nepali movie from 2013 which was loved by many Nepali teenagers, mainly the “Junge” character. The character was played by Salon Basnet. The dialogues and roles were played in such a charismatic way that his dialogues and his role were remembered for many years and are still loved.

Salon Basnet is a stylish Nepali actor and model who started his career in Nepali Film Industry as a child actor. He first debuted in the old superhit Nepali movie “Nepali Babu”.

Early life and Education

Salon Basnet was born on March 23, 1991, in Kathmandu, Thankot. His father’s name is Shovit Basnet, a popular movie director and her mother’s name is Mina Basnet. Salon started his schooling from the Bright Angel and finished his schooling at Bright Future Boarding Secondary School. After S.L.C, he joined Capital College and Research Center(CCRC) then he studied BBA at National Account College.
Salon had a huge interest in dancing from a very young age of his life. At the age of 5, he participated in the dancing competition and earned 11 thousand.
As he was a son of a popular movie director, Salon Basnet faced the camera at a very early age. He was featured as a child actor in the movie Nepali Babu at the age of 7. Then he appeared in other Nepali movies like “Haami Teen Bhai”, “Afno Pan”, “Aafanta”, “Dhukdhuki”, etc.

Career

Salon Basnet played in many Nepali movies as a child actor but he stopped appearing in movies so he can focus on his studies. Then he rejoined the Entertainment area in 2013 as a Junge on Hostel movie which became a blockbuster movie. The movie was highly acclaimed on a national and international level with different national awards. And it was announced he formally started his career in films. He then appeared in other movies “Euta Sathi” and “Adha Page” but did not perform well at the box office. In 2016 he appeared in the “Gajalu” movie with Anmol K.C. and Shristi Shrestha and in 2017 he again made comeback in “A Mero Hajur 3” movie starring Salin Man Baniya and Samragyee RL Shah which both movies became a blockbuster movie. He has acted in many other movies, his acting skills, and his handsome face is appreciated and loved by people all over Nepal.
