According to Microsoft, Microsoft HoloLens 2 is a “fully untethered, see-through holographic computer.” It is a Virtual Reality headset with transparent lens for AR experience which allows users to experience 3D images of any object which blend with the real environment.
The Design is reconfigured which makes it easier to wear than the previous one. The weight distribution is equally distributed and the center of balance isn’t front heavy. The visor can be flipped up just like Microsoft VR (Virtual Reality) Lens. It can be also worn with your power glass on, the view is bigger than the previous one. The Microsoft HoloLens 2 expands the view to 52 degree where previous Hololens 1 has a view of 30 degrees.
The headset cameras can scene a motion too. Microsoft has come up with entirely new technology of display. Like other smart glasses, the Hololens uses leaser to create MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical systems) display. But instead of shine an image directly into the eye’s retina Microsoft’s laser goes into waveguides that sit in front of eyes. It works by having leasers hit mirrors that scan 54,000 times per second and they direct photons into the waveguides. In Microsoft Hololens 2 each eye has up to 2k resolution display.
The cameras on the nose can scan and adjust the image to fit the pupillary distance between the eyes. It also includes the Snapdragon processor and runs with Windows operating system.
